Meet Mariah Finegan
Background
Mariah Finegan is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) who has been practicing the art of massage since 2008. Her mission is to support individuals in achieving life balance through the help of massage therapy. Mariah enjoys combining relaxation with focus and therapeutic work, and most importantly, she believes in allowing the mind, body, and spirit to let go and to heal from within.
Although Mariah’s main focus is massage therapy, she also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Media Publishing from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005. Mariah’s love for adventure and art lead her to work for a printing company in Chicago, Illinois and for a company in Boston, Massachusetts. After living in South Boston for a few months, she decided to transition from her desk job to a massage therapist. Mariah has been practicing her true passion for helping others ever since and enjoys every minute of it!
Recently, Mariah relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina to be closer to family and friends. Even though Mariah does miss Nantucket, she has quickly fallen in love with the beauty and warmth that Wilmington has to offer. Update: Mariah is now Co-Owner and is not taking new clients or requests. If you would like to book we suggest Karen, Jennifer, Jaime, or Gillian as they have simalr styles.
Education/Experience
- Mariah was trained at Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a 750 hour program focused on clinical-based massage.
- Since 2008 Mariah has completed many Continuing Education courses.
- Mariah has been trained to help with Myofascial Release, Lumbar-sacral release, PTSD, and TMJ disorders.
- From 2009-2013, Mariah spent the summer seasons working on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts.
During her time on the island, she worked as a massage therapist at the renowned White Elephant and the Relais Cheteaux property The Wauwinet Inn. - Her experience in working for high-end spas has helped her to create a more customized experience for the client.
